Our Story
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) was born in 1960 through the vision of Loren Cunningham, with a heart to empower young people to “Know God and make Him known.” What began as a dream is now a global movement active in more than 140 countries. Read more →
In Belgium, that story began in 1982, when a pioneering team from YWAM Heidebeek, led by Ron Archer, laid the foundation for what would become YWAM Belgium. Over the decades, the ministry has grown, branched out, and adapted—some teams moved on, others completed their missions, and some are thriving to this day.
One of the longest-standing ministries is Message Media, a Christian bookshop in the heart of Brussels that has been actively serving since 1985, sharing God's story through creative communication.
In 2002, Wim and Tanja Biesbrouck launched YWAM Kortrijk, bringing vibrant youth work and community outreach to life in West Flanders.
And in 2018, Martijn and Cristin Bruggeman began a new chapter in Wallonia with YWAM Fumal, focusing on storytelling, church support, and training.
